Our Home Ground – Clyde Park, named in honour of past President, the late Sid Clyde, boasts two state-of-the-art water-based playing surfaces, three grass fields, and a modern Clubhouse – Club Glenvale, the ‘Home of Toowoomba Hockey’, with Bars, Bistro and Gaming facilities.

Weekly fixture games are played from March to September each year, with divisions from Minkeys & Mods through to Masters. The THA also runs Indoor and Social Hockey comps from October to December; Junior and Senior Development Programs throughout the year; and we have a highly competitive Representative program, with a number of Toowoomba players going on to compete at the Olympics with the Hockeyroos and the Kookaburras.

Mission Statement

The Toowoomba Hockey Association aspires to lead the development of hockey through the provision of high quality facilities and services in a sustainable and responsible manner, this is socially inclusive to the entire community.

A Brief History

History recalls that Hockey first began in Toowoomba in 1928 with separate Men’s and Women’s Associations playing matches in various locations. In 1957, the Men’s and Women’s Associations joined to form the Toowoomba Hockey Association.

The Toowoomba Hockey Club was established in 1964 as a meeting place for Hockey members. Various Teams and Clubs were formed throughout the years until 1973 saw the 5 major Clubs of the Association today – Newtown, Northern Suburbs, Past High, Rangeville and Red Lion.

Clyde Park became the Home Ground of Toowoomba Hockey in 1978 as the ‘Clyde Park Hockey Complex’ was officially opened with six grass playing fields and a small but functional Clubhouse.

Over the years to follow, the Clubhouse underwent various extensions and restructures until, in 2008, Club Glenvale (formerly the Toowoomba Hockey Club) was officially opened.
