Grants to help young people pursue their sporting dreams
Young people find it difficult to meet the ongoing and significant costs associated with participation at sporting competitions, particularly those from regional areas.
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young people aged 12-18 towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment when competing, coaching or officiating at an official national sporting organisation (NSO) endorsed state, national or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championships.

Get Started Vouchers

As a parent, do you find it difficult to cover the costs of registration

or participation fees for your children at your local sport or active

recreation club? The Get Started Vouchers program provides assistance

for those who need it most.

 

Get Started Vouchers assists children and young people who can least

afford, or may otherwise benefit from, joining a sport or active recreation

club. Eligible children and young people are presented with a voucher

that provides up to $150 to help with the costs for membership and

participation fees. The vouchers can be redeemed at a local sport and

active recreation club that is registered for the program.
